Hallo! Selamat malam, and how was your week? Gak kerasa ya, udah mau ketemu lagi sama hari Senin!
Sometimes, it's frustrating when I realize that I can't do things the way I used to. I'm still learning how to deal with this version of myself, and honestly, it's not always easy.
But then, the thing I'm really proud of myself for this week is that aku udah mulai bodo amat dengan penilaian atau komentar orang lain. Yeayy!
So, the first thing I want to be grateful for is myself.
Thank You, Allah, for helping me reach a point where I can slowly learn to ignore people's opinions. Bodo amat ketika ada orang yang mulai ngomongin aku ini-itu, and instead of getting caught up in what they say, I choose to stay focused on my own path.
I'm learning that I don't have to explain myself to everyone, and I don't have to prove that I'm doing okay just because other people expect me to. Not everyone will understand what I'm going through, and that's okay. I don't need their understanding to keep moving forward.
Sometimes, protecting our peace means letting people have their own opinions while we continue living our lives. And I think that's one of the things I'm slowly learning to do.
The second thing I'm grateful for is that I'm learning to accept my current condition and lower my expectations of myself.
Remember, we all have our own luck and struggles in life. Everyone has a different timeline, a different journey, and different battles to fight. What works for someone else might not work for me, and that's perfectly okay.
Sometimes, we spend too much time comparing our lives with other people's lives without knowing what they have been through to get where they are today. We see their achievements, their happiness, and their progress, but we rarely see the struggles behind them.
Sometimes, simply getting through the day, taking care of myself, and allowing myself to rest are already meaningful achievements.
Maybe, for now, I need to get to know myself again and understand what I can and cannot do.
We all have our own portions in life.
And perhaps, learning to accept this is one of the ways I can finally make peace with myself.
The third thing I want to share is a conversation I had with my colleagues on Friday.
Jadi, pas Jumat kemarin di teacher's room, one of my colleagues asked about qada and qadar, but I couldn't remember the explanation. However, there's something from that conversation that has stayed in my mind, and I want to share it with you: the importance of seeking Allah's pleasure (rida Allah).
Lantas, kita menjawab, "Ibadah kita, kebaikan kita."
But then, the answer was rida Allah.
And this made me reflect on my own life.
Selama ini, tanpa sadar, mungkin aku masih terlalu sering memikirkan bagaimana orang lain melihatku. Apakah mereka menganggapku berhasil? Apakah mereka menganggapku cukup baik?
Sometimes, we become so busy trying to meet people's expectations that we forget to ask ourselves a more important question: Am I living a life that brings me closer to Allah?
Of course, I still want to do good things, achieve my goals, and make my parents proud. I still want to have a meaningful career and contribute something good to the people around me. There's nothing wrong with having dreams and wanting to achieve something in life.
But perhaps, what I need to change is the intention behind everything I do.
Because at the end of the day, people's approval is temporary.
I want to learn to do my best, leave the results to Allah, and trust that He knows what is in my heart, even when people don't understand my choices.
Perhaps, that's what I need to remind myself of more often:
I don't have to live a life that impresses everyone. I want to live a life that brings me closer to Allah.
And maybe, this is also part of learning to let go. Letting go of the need to be understood, the need to be appreciated, and the need to have everything figured out.
I just need to keep trying, keep learning, and keep asking Allah to guide me toward the path that is best for me.
And you know what? This week, my desire to return to school has come back.
I want to find a job that allows me to grow without constantly pushing myself beyond my limits.
But then, we never know what the future holds, right?
Sometimes, we want Allah to show us the whole picture, but perhaps all we need is enough light to take the next step.
Maybe I don't need to rush into making a decision. Maybe I just need to be honest with myself about what I need, what I can handle, and what kind of life I want to build.
Because I want my next decision to come from a place of clarity, not fear; from self-awareness, not social pressure.
For now, I'll keep praying, reflecting, and doing my best.
Hmm, there's one more thing that made me feel sad this week: both of my parents were sick.
Rasanya pasti berbeda kalau aku sedang merantau.
And this made me realize how grateful I am to be home, even though things aren't always easy.
Sometimes, we don't realize how valuable it is to be physically present for the people we love until we find ourselves in situations like this.
I know that I still have a lot to learn about being a good daughter, but I hope I can keep showing my love for them through the little things I do every day.
And last but not least, I'm grateful to have good friends at work.
Huhuuu.
Sometimes, I know I'm not the easiest person to understand, especially when my mood changes or when I'm struggling to manage my emotions. That's why having people who are willing to understand me without making me feel like a burden means so much to me.
I'm learning that I don't have to go through everything alone. Having people who are patient with me, who give me space when I need it, and who still treat me kindly even when I'm not at my best is something I truly appreciate.
Thank you for being part of my journey and for reminding me that I can still be loved and accepted, even when I'm struggling to understand myself.
And to myself, thank you for continuing to try. I know this journey hasn't been easy, and I know there are still days when I feel frustrated with myself. But I'm proud that I'm still here, still learning, and still trying to make peace with the life I'm living today.
I'm learning to accept that healing doesn't always mean going back to the person I used to be. Sometimes, it means learning how to live gently with the person I am today.
And maybe, that's enough for now.
I don't have to figure everything out this week. I don't have to know exactly where my life is going. I just need to take things one day at a time, do what I can, and trust Allah with the things I cannot control.
So, here's to another week of learning, growing, and finding peace in the little things.
May Allah guide us toward the paths that are best for us, protect our hearts from the weight of other people's expectations, and help us find peace in whatever He has written for us.
Aamiin ya Rabbal 'alamin.
