What does closure mean in your life?
Wow, talking about closure, I had a bad experience with it.
There was a time when someone suddenly left me without giving me any reason or explanation. But then, he came back again, said hello to me, and acted like there had never been anything important between us.
That's why this experience influenced my mindset and also affected my mental health. It made me feel left behind and abandoned. I kept asking myself so many questions.
Why did he leave me?
Did I make a mistake?
Did I make him angry?
Was there something wrong with me?
For me, closure means being able to say "goodbye" and close the story with the words, "This is the end." Just say it and then you can go away.
Even though it might hurt one of the people involved, I think it is still better than leaving someone without any explanation. At least, the other person doesn't have to spend so much time thinking about the reason behind it.
Leaving someone without saying goodbye can feel like hurting them slowly. Because you leave them with unanswered questions, and sometimes those questions can haunt them for a long time. They may start blaming themselves for something they don't even understand.
And I think when you give someone proper closure, you help them leave some of their old pain behind. They can focus more on today instead of constantly going back to the past and wondering about the reason.
Maybe it happened many years ago, but I still remember how painful it was. Sometimes, I still remember the feeling of being unseen, unvalued, and abandoned.
Let's see.
Sometimes, the things we do to other people can have a much bigger impact than we realize.
So please, be wiser and be gentle.
If you want to end something, don't only think about how you can leave. Think about how the other person will receive your goodbye, too. And it doesn't only apply to romantic relationships. It can happen in friendships, workplaces, communities, or even in our daily interactions with other people.
You don't have to stay if you no longer want to.
You don't have to continue something that isn't right for you.
But if you can, give people a clear and kind goodbye.
Because sometimes, a simple explanation can help someone stop blaming themselves.
And sometimes, saying "goodbye" is not about being cruel.
It is about giving both people a chance to finally move forward.
