Which Memories Stay with You The Most?

Which memories stay with you the most?

Talking about this feels heavy for me because the memories that stay with me the most are usually the worst ones.

It starts from when I was abandoned as a child, and then the moment when someone left me without giving me any reason or explanation.

I always try to find the good things in life, but somehow, the bad memories always come back to my mind. Sometimes, I don't even invite them. They just appear.

I've talked about this with my therapist, and she just smiled and asked me to go through those memories one by one.

Maybe I have been carrying too many things for too long.

I'm not trying to dramatize my life. This is just the fact of what I have experienced and how those experiences have stayed with me.

I still remember when my therapist said that I have a lot of wounds, and maybe that's one of the reasons I ended up experiencing depression.

Kwkwkwkw.

It sounds simple when I write it like that, but I know there are many stories behind those memories.

Maybe that's also why I'm learning to be more patient with myself. Some memories don't disappear just because we want them to. Sometimes, we need to understand them, feel them, and slowly learn how to live with them without letting them control our whole life.

And maybe, one day, the memories that hurt me the most won't be the only memories that stay with me.
